There is something about a slow evening and an unforced conversation that brings out the best in me. There is something lovely about an evening with music, conversation, and no pressure to keep moving. I bring a calm presence and usually notice more than I say right away. I listen carefully, think before I speak, and still leave room for a good impulse. I prefer plans that feel comfortable and considered, without turning into a production.
