There is something about a slow evening and an unforced conversation that brings out the best in me. I’m quieter at first, but I’m rarely absent from a conversation. I’m drawn to small gestures and attention that does not need an audience. I’m not above changing my mind when someone brings a genuinely better idea. A loose plan makes me comfortable; a better idea is always welcome.
