There is something about a slow evening and an unforced conversation that brings out the best in me. I enjoy a room with life in it and the easy spark that appears when people feel included. A little flirtation makes an evening brighter when it comes with manners and curiosity. I tend to notice the best corner of a room before I notice where everyone else has sat down. Ultimately, I’m looking for ease, interest, and the feeling that the evening was time well spent. I like a relaxed exchange, a little natural silence, and the feeling that nobody is auditioning. A relaxed tone makes room for charm, honesty, and the parts of a person that do not arrive on cue. A clear beginning is attractive; so is the confidence to see where the mood goes. A little character goes a long way with me.
