Sometimes the nicest evenings begin simply and become memorable almost by accident. I enjoy a little style in the surroundings and in the conversation; neither needs to be loud. I like having something to work towards, while remembering that pleasure belongs in a good life too. Ease matters to me; the best company lets a conversation move without pushing it. I like an evening that feels deliberate, then becomes more relaxed as it goes. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself. I sometimes overthink a small choice and then make an impulsive one five minutes later. The rest is simple: good energy, mutual respect, and a reason to stay for one more conversation.
