A change of scenery is lovely, but the person beside you is what gives it meaning. I prefer a few good things to a crowded list: comfort. company. and a little quiet. I do not need a room to notice me; a good exchange is usually enough. I listen carefully, think before I speak, and still leave room for a good impulse. I prefer a simple plan. clearly made. with empty space around it. I like words, places, and people that feel real rather than overworked. I like meetings that feel attentive without becoming intense, with space for both people to settle in. Ultimately. I’m looking for ease. interest. and the feeling that the evening was time well spent. I notice when someone listens.
