I take playlists slightly more seriously than the situation probably requires, which is one of my harmless habits. I tend to reveal myself in layers; the interesting parts rarely arrive in the first minute. I’m happiest when there is a plan for the beginning and freedom to ignore it later. I like a well-chosen table, a gallery, or a new corner of town with more to discover. I like a clear starting point, but I’m always open to a worthwhile detour. I like thoughtfulness that still knows how to stay clear.
