If we meet, I hope it feels less like an appointment and more like the beginning of a good story. I have a clear sense of what I enjoy, with plenty of room for a good surprise. I notice when someone needs a gentler pace, a better question, or a little more time. I like meetings that feel attentive without becoming intense, with space for both people to settle in. A quieter setting suits me: a considered meal, a walk, and time to notice what is beneath the obvious. I prefer a little breathing room in the schedule; rushing hides the interesting parts. I can make a simple decision sound like a discussion, mostly because I enjoy the discussion. I like leaving a little room for the person I meet to add something unexpected.
