The right atmosphere matters to me, usually before either person has said very much at all. I’m good at slowing a moment down without making it feel heavy. I tend to reveal myself in layers; the interesting parts rarely arrive in the first minute. I like getting ready with a sense of occasion, but never to the point where it feels like work.
