I know what I like: good manners, a sense of humour, and an evening that does not need to be rushed. I can make a simple decision sound like a discussion, mostly because I enjoy the discussion. I enjoy an active rhythm, then a good meal and enough time to talk properly. I enjoy my own rhythm and I’m drawn to people who have one of their own. A thoughtful detail can change the entire tone of an evening. A little planning creates the right frame; the atmosphere still needs room to breathe. I like the kind of evening that leaves no grand conclusion, only the sense that something worth keeping has begun. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself. A little character goes a long way with me.
