Sometimes the nicest evenings begin simply and become memorable almost by accident. I’m energised by company, especially when the mood stays warm rather than noisy. I listen carefully, think before I speak, and still leave room for a good impulse. I tend to notice the best corner of a room before I notice where everyone else has sat down. I like knowing where an evening begins, then leaving space for the best part to happen by accident. I like the first decision to be made and the next few to stay negotiable. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself. I’m drawn to encounters that feel considered without becoming constructed, with enough grace for something genuine to appear.
