Some of the best conversations begin quietly, without either person trying too hard to make an impression. I’m drawn to calm rooms. good books. and conversations that arrive slowly. I like getting ready with a sense of occasion, but never to the point where it feels like work. I appreciate ease, consistency, and the freedom not to turn every moment into a test. I enjoy being out in the world. although the person beside me still matters most. A calm beginning helps me settle in, after which the conversation can take its time. The best atmosphere lets a pause feel natural and a change of subject feel welcome. For me. the best meeting is warm. unforced. and memorable for the right reasons.
